AKG C214 / C414 Series, and Audio-Technica Shock Mounts
Special Instructions for Shock Mounts
Applies to: AKG C214 / C414 Series, and Audio-Technica Shock Mounts
Some microphones with short or uniquely shaped bodies—like the AKG C214 or C414—may not attach securely to their shock mounts when used with the Kaotica Eyeball. Here's how to adapt your shock mount setup for the best performance:
🛠️ Step-by-Step Instructions:
-
Disassemble the shock mount: Remove the internal elastic bands and center support, leaving only the outer metal ring/frame.
-
Rest the Eyeball on the ring: The contours of the Kaotica Eyeball will naturally sit on the remaining ring. This supports the microphone while allowing it to remain decoupled from vibrations.
-
Let the Eyeball grip the mic: The Eyeball’s elastic foam material will securely hold your microphone inside, maintaining both stability and sound isolation.
-
Wrap the cable around the stand: To add extra stability, loop your microphone cable around the mic stand. This also helps manage slack and reduces strain on the connection.
