Does my Kaotica purchase include a microphone, microphone stand, or shock-mount?

+
No, Kaotica is a microphone accessory and does not include a microphone, microphone stand, or shock-mount.

Why do my recordings sound louder when I use my Kaotica?

+
It is perceived that the Kaotica makes recordings sound louder. Kaotica channels sound directly into your microphone and the projection of your voice towards the microphone allows Kaotica to capture the true tonality of your vocals, amplifying them. It may be necessary to adjust or turn down the input gain when using your Kaotica. If you are using a USB microphone, adjust the gain settings on your microphone, software, and interface.

How does Kaotica affect my mixing and mastering?

+
Kaotica lessens the need for excess equalization and post-production processing. It provides a clear tone, vastly reducing reflections and the ambient frequencies within a recording space. Kaotica captures the complete spectrum of your voice and reduces much of the external environment, giving you clear and concise vocals, free of coloration.

I tried my Kaotica, and it doesn’t sound right. What do I do?

+
The Kaotica Series is designed to isolate your microphone from the external environment and capture the full vocal spectrum of your voice. All recording spaces vary, some spaces are more reflective and can create additional echoes. The Kaotica Series can be quite effective in reducing these reflections and ambience, it just may take a little extra time to set up and test.

Follow these instructions to achieve optimal sound quality:

·       Make sure you are actively speaking/singing into the Kaotica.

·       Ideally, your Kaotica and microphone should be centered in the recording area or room.  This allows for the reverberations to disperse through the air, limiting room reflections. Try setting up in different areas your recording space to see what sounds best.

·       It is perceived that the Kaotica makes recordings sound louder. The projection of your voice towards the microphone allows Kaotica to capture the true tonality of your vocals, amplifying them. It may be necessary to adjust or turn down the input gain when using your Kaotica. If you are using a USB microphone, adjust the gain settings on your microphone, software, and interface.

·       If your recording space is less than ideal (concrete, windows, bare floors, and walls, etc.) minor tweaks and additions could help. Try adding a rug under your microphone stand, extra sound dampening objects or insulation around the recording space.

·       Adjusting the space between the vocalist and your Kaotica will affect the sound. Experiment with different distances to determine what works best.

Remember, you can never eliminate all reverberations - even the best studios may have room reflections. The Kaotica will not eliminate all unwanted reflections or natural reverberations but will vastly reduce the need to treat your recording space.

My microphone will not screw into its shock-mount. Why?

+
Short-bodied microphones like the TLM 103, when fitted in the Kaotica Eyeball, will not screw into its respective shock-mount. The Eyeball will sit decoupled from the shock-mount and remain stable.

Shock-mounts with elastic grip systems commonly sold with Audio Technica microphones will fit differently with your Kaotica.  Remove the elastic bands and center attachment within the shock-mount.  Your Eyeball will then sit on the frame of the shock-mount decoupled.

Why do some artists use multiple pop filters?

+
The Kaotica includes a custom-fit pop filter. To achieve your preferred sound, you can double-up or replace the Kaotica’s pop filter with your own. Ensure you place the additional pop filter right against the front opening of your Kaotica.

Can I customize my pop filter colors?

+

Each Kaotica model in the Kaotica series comes with its corresponding pop filter color as stated below and cannot be substituted for an alternate color.

Kaotica Eyeball              Kaotica Signature Blue

Kaotica Fatboy              Onyx Black

I paid via PayPal eCheck. Why is there a delay in processing my order?

+
All orders are subject to bank authorization prior to processing. Only authorized purchases will be processed and shipped. An eCheck is an electronic funds transfer from your bank account to another PayPal account. eCheck transactions can take up to 7 business days to clear and Kaotica will process and ship these orders only after the eCheck has cleared.

If an eCheck bounces, PayPal will attempt to reprocess the payment in 3 business days, and the clearing process may take up to another 7 business days to clear thereafter.

Please click here for further information on PayPal eCheck.

Why am I being charged multiple times?

+
The charges you see are duplicate pending charges authorized and still in process by your financial institution.  When you use your credit card to purchase online, your issuing bank places a hold on your account while verifying funds for the transaction.  Once your financial institution processes your transaction, the preauthorized hold is removed within a few business days.  No additional funds are withdrawn from your account however we suggest contacting your financial institution if you need further clarification.

Can I be featured or cross-promoted on your social media sites?

+
The Kaotica community is a colorful tapestry of artists, their stories, and shared ideas. We are honored to have such loyal supporters and appreciate all content curated with your Kaotica. We welcome you to share your photos with us and we will try our best to post them. We do not typically post videos that are not curated by Kaotica and our marketing team.

How do I pack and travel with my Kaotica?

+
Your Kaotica can be packed without its original packaging.  Be sure to remove the pop filter first before packing the foam ball away.  We recommend packing your pop filter separately in a soft casing. The foam ball will expand back to its original shape when removed from your luggage.

How do I clean my Kaotica?

+
Due to the porosity of the foam, the Kaotica will naturally collect dust and debris. The best way to keep your Kaotica clean is to gently use a sticky lint roller. If you've stained your Kaotica with food or a hard-to-remove substance, use a bit of water and gently rub it out with a non-abrasive, lint-free cloth.
